Plan your canal holiday on the Kennet and Avon Canal

Our base in Seend is perfecty positioned to offer holidays in both directions along the Kennet and Avon Canal. When planning your trip, really you just need to choose which direction you would like to travel and decide the duration of your holiday.

How far can we go during our canal boat holiday?

East or west?

If you go West, you'll be able to embark on a trip towards Bath, which includes highlights such as the Saxon town of Bradford-on-Avon and two spectacular aqueducts. There are enough locks to keep you active, plenty to see and do and fantastic canalside pubs along the entire route.

Heading East is a wonderful experience if you're looking for a slightly more active holiday away from it all in peaceful countryside. On your first day you'll encounter Caen Hill flight - a flight of 16 locks (26 including a few either side of the flight) which will take anywhere between 2.5 and 5 hours). You'll then be rewarded with a 14 mile lock free stretch of canal.
